Tord Boontje, Shadowplay, 2004

While working for Artwise Curators, Helen Hayward and I undertook a commission with designer Tord Boontje. The commission was to occupy two curved cabinets in British Airway's First Class Lounge, Heathrow, Terminal One.

Referencing Victorian shadow puppetry refigured with the modern technology of Swarovski LED crystals, the designer created a shadow-play behind the frosted laminate screens sealing the rounded front of the two cabinets.The designer's trade mark floral motifs were brought to life by small electric fans and other moving parts.
