Farnborough Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE)

Between 2004 - 2007 Helen Hayward and I worked with Slough Estates/Segro Plc.on the regeneration of an old Ministry of Defence research-base in Farnborough, Hampshire. Our work involved advising on strategy for the growth of the cultural and heritage programme on the site.

To do this we consulted with a range of local, regional and national stake-holders and organisations. We also applied and received grants/funding in order to begin the development of an arts and culture programme. Initial projects exploring audience development and community participation where realised.

One aspect of this early phase development was an invitation, on behalf of the client, to Amy Plant to undertake an artist-in-residence commission. As part of her residency the artist established The Square Circle.
